Calorie Counter Weight Loss Clinic unfortunately no longer provides physician evaluations or recommendations for Oklahoma medical marijuana patient licenses.

Since 2018, Calorie Counter has proudly offered medical marijuana card recommendations. We are truly sad to see this service go, and we’re grateful to every patient who trusted us with their care.

As a walk-in clinic, we no longer have the staff time needed to give these visits the attention they deserve while continuing to care for our weight-loss patients. As we approach 30 years in practice, we want to stay focused on the care that has brought patients to us for so long.

Calorie Counter no longer offers new or renewal medical marijuana card recommendations. Thank you for allowing us to provide this service for the past eight years.

Why We Made This Change

As of January 1, 2026, recommending physicians must complete approved medical marijuana education and register with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA). The Oklahoma State Board of Osteopathic Examiners has also updated its policy addressing clinical evaluation, patient records, the reason for a recommendation, medication and PMP review, informed consent, and follow-up care.

Providing the ongoing evaluation, documentation, and follow-up described in these standards is beyond the scope of our walk-in recommendation service. We have therefore discontinued the service.

If you already have an OMMA card

Our decision to stop offering recommendations does not, by itself, cancel an active patient license. Please check your expiration date and plan ahead for a renewal with another physician.
