FAQs

Do I need any records from my primary care physician?

No, you don’t need any records from your primary care physician. In Oklahoma, you don’t need to demonstrate a preexisting medical condition to qualify. Instead, our doctor will ask you what symptoms or concerns you'd like to address with medical cannabis—and that’s all that’s required.

Oklahoma law doesn’t require you to obtain records from another doctor, and your eligibility is based on your consultation with us—not your medical history documents.

How long does it take to receive my card?

After you submit your application online, you’ll receive email updates as it’s processed. Most patients receive their medical marijuana card in the mail within 14–18 business days.

How much does a patient recommendation cost?

The standard state license fee is $104.30, paid when you submit your online application with a signed recommendation form.

If you have SoonerCare, Medicaid, or are a 100% disabled veteran, you qualify for a discounted rate of $22.50.

How do I renew my license?

Renewing is easy—you’ll see the doctor just like you did the first time.
Same form, same state fees.

Bring a copy of your driver’s license or state-issued ID.
No appointment needed, and most visits take less than 30 minutes.

What happens after I apply?

After your visit with our doctor and receiving your signed recommendation form, we’ll help you create an OMMA account and upload all required documents for you.

The state license fee is paid directly through the OMMA website, so be sure to bring a debit or credit card for payment.

How long is my license good for?

Oklahoma medical marijuana licenses are valid for two years from the issue date, which you’ll find printed on the front of your medical card.

🌿 Learn About Terpenes

Understanding cannabis strains and their dominant terpenes is key when using cannabis for weight loss and overall wellness.

Terpenes are aromatic compounds responsible for a strain’s flavor, smell, and effects—and they play a big role in how your body responds. With over 100+ identified terpenes, each strain has its own unique profile that can influence mood, energy, appetite, and more.

⚡ Fight Fatigue — Look Beyond THC

If you're using cannabis to support weight loss and energy, don't just focus on THC levels. Instead, seek out strains high in THCV—a cannabinoid known for boosting energy and suppressing appetite.

Some high-THC strains can cause drowsiness or brain fog, so it's important to pay attention to terpenes and the overall cannabinoid profile, not just the THC percentage.
